We came, we saw, we became All-Star on LinkedIn! Thus far, 10 of the 50 attendants have attained All-Star rating on LinkedIn starting from scratch at Beginner. The majority are Intermediate and will soon be All-Star. With All-Star rating, you’re 40x more likely to receive opportunities on LinkedIn. I was surprised not many are familiar with LinkedIn which is pretty much Facebook for professionals. We had this workshop on Monday 27 Nov in Department of Geology, University of Malaya. Thank you my Guru Yaya Norazman, American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) University of Malaya Student Chapter and Science Society University of Malaya. Here's my deck on for your enjoyment:

Workshops like these are incredibly valuable in today’s digital-first job market. Learning how to build a strong LinkedIn presence gives students a real edge in connecting with professionals and showcasing their skills. It’s great to see universities equipping students with tools that directly impact their career growth. For students seeking similar career-focused initiatives, Telkom University Jakarta also provides dynamic programs and development workshops designed to prepare students for success in the professional world.

It’s impressive to see how Zaim Mohzani organized a “LinkedIn Workshop for University Students” — a timely and practical effort to help students build their professional presence online and prepare for future career opportunities. zaim.my By equipping young people with the digital networking skills to present themselves confidently on platforms like LinkedIn, the workshop demonstrates a commitment to empowering students beyond traditional academics — aligning with the idea that learning should drive real-world progress. In the same forward-looking spirit, I also believe educational institutions should prepare students not only for jobs, but also for navigating broader societal and digital-era challenges — as discussed in this article: Anchor Text. True progress comes when we combine technical competence, digital literacy, and a global mindset — so graduates are ready not just to enter the workforce, but to thrive and lead responsibly.
