Interviewing The German Ambassador To Malaysia

My KSI colleague Voon Zhen Yi and I have started a new interview series with ambassadors and high commissioners in Malaysia. We call it Diplomatically Speaking With.

For the first one, we had the German Ambassador to Malaysia - His Excellency Dr Peter Blomeyer!

Over the course of 45 minutes, we had a wide-ranging discussion on:

• German-Malaysian history: So many interesting facts about 19th-century connection and German presence in Penang!
• Economic relations & trade: Malaysia is Germany's principal trading partner in ASEAN and Germany is Malaysia's principal trading partner in EU!
• Cultural and educational relations: German has many associations in Malaysia. German is taught in some of our schools. We're learning the best practices of TVET/vocational training from the Germans
• Cooperation in climate, democracy and ASEAN.
