Despite our presence, not many people know of our organisation, what more our mission. So, we decided to organise a day for our partners and prospective allies to meet and chat with us.

Filling in the gaps between studies

The Star Column by Danial Rahman, 20 January 2017

WHEN the Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh announced on Facebook that a Gap-Year programme would begin in September, there was a lot of excitement.

Curious to find out more, I posted a question on my Facebook page asking my friends for their thoughts. Some had actually been on a gap-year over different periods of their lives and were happy to share their experiences and views.

'How to Read 52 Years in a Year?' at Big Bad Wolf's Refresh by TEDxKL

'How to read 52 books in a year?'

That was my topic for Refresh @ Big Bad Wolf Book Sale KL 2016: The World's Biggest Book Sale.

Great experience! Equally amazing line-up of speakers.

I started off the talk with why we should read. I also said there's no right way to read. Then I shared the 5 ways I did to finish 52 books -- set a standard; read your own way; use a pen; speed reading; and recap & review. I concluded with a call to action to challenge yourself next year and see how many books you can read.

Daniel Cerventus, thank you for the opportunity!
